New approaches for tracing the origin of food
The 4th annual conference of the TRACE project will take place in Torremolinos, Spain on the 23-25 April 2008.
Traceability is essential to ensure that all food products are documented at every step of food production and distribution. The TRACE project aims to provide systems that can not only trace food, but are also capable of confirming its origin. A key issue is electronic exchange of information between the links in the supply chain and verification of this information.
The Trace conference will include the workshop,
“TraceFood Framework and TraceCore XML –International standard for electronic exchange of product information in the food supply chain”.
The workshop will take place on the 23rd of April
In addition there will be sessions regarding stakeholder views towards traceability and sessions on analytical methods for authenticating food.
