RIKILT has an important advisory function for governments in the field of food safety. One of our most important tasks is the analysis of agricultural products and foodstuffs. We systematically gather measurement data on consumption and residues and assess the health risks of different substances, which allows us to conduct large-scale intake estimates and risk assessments. This is done in cooperation with the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM).
RIKILT has an extensive set of analysis methods at its disposal:
· residues
· contaminants
· veterinary drugs
· pesticides
· heavy metals
· micro-organisms
· bioactive substances
· genetically modified substances
· animal proteins
· allergens
