Method development

The development of new analysis methods is an ongoing process for RIKILT. This includes the development of:

  • Analytical methods for the detection of hormones, antibiotics, residues, and known and unknown contaminants.
  • Bioassays for tracking, among others, banned hormone use. RIKILT uses molecular biological methods for this purpose.
  • Methods for detecting low concentrations of genetically modified raw materials in foodstuffs.
  • Immunological methods for the detection and identification of allergens and pollutants in foodstuffs.
